The 37th Annual Lake State Classic Golf Scramble, in support of Lake Superior State University and Laker Athletics, will be held Friday, August 7th, 2026 at Wild Bluff Golf Course in Brimley, Michigan. The event this year is once again presented by Fudge du Locke, a strong, consistent supporter of Laker Athletics.

"The Classic is a tremendous opportunity to not only support Laker Athletics, but also reconnect with old acquaintances and network with new friends," commented LSSU Head Men's Basketball Coach Steve Hettinga.

The event will begin at 8 am with light food and coffee provided for each golfer, and the four-person scramble will tee off with a shotgun start at 9 am. There will be multiple special events, and lunch will be available for all golfers. The Lake State Classic has sold out three years in a row and is expected to sell out once again.

The Classic online auction opens for bidding on July 27 and will close the evening of August 7.  Auction items will include autographed memorabilia and other experiential-related items.

"The Lake State Classic continues to draw LSSU's passionate alumni and friends back home each year, and is one of the most popular outings in the Upper Peninsula," said Scott Smith, LSSU VP of Advancement, Legislative and Alumni Affairs. "We're excited to welcome back the Classic Bash and to once again raise vital support for LSSU."

Team registrations are $165/golfer or $660/team, and all major sponsorships at the silver level ($1,750 and above) include a team.
