Lake Superior State wrapped up its weekend conference series with a trip to Big Rapids, MI and a showdown with #1 Ferris State.
The Lakers (3-11, 0-6 GLIAC) lost in straight sets, 25-10, 25-10, 25-14, to the top-ranked Bulldogs (14-0, 6-0 GLIAC) on Saturday night.
Gia Waters led Lake State in kills and digs, scoring five and eight during the match.
Morgan Deming scored a pair of kills with a block assist, while
Ava Tarsi set for five assists and defended for seven digs.
The Lakers forced 12 attacking errors by Ferris, including a block by Deming and
Shea Berisoff early in the match. The Lakers took an early lead over the Bulldogs, then followed up the opposition counter with kills from Deming and Waters.
The combo scored another pair of kills in the third set, with Berisoff adding back-to-back kills midway through the third set.
