One of the greatest players in Lake Superior State history, Akaemji Williams' career was the stuff of legends. Though listed at 5'8", 147 pounds, the Rochester, Michigan native fearlessly attacked defenders in the lane, shooting over 500 career free throws. At 2,010 career points, Williams is second in program history in total points, trailing the legendary Gary Fors by 103 and leading the great Chris Wooley in third by nearly 200. AK's record 726 career assists lead Don Carlson's 590 by a wide margin. His 728 field goals sit second all time, trailing Fors while overtaking Jim Kholhede and Wooley. 323 steals lead Laker history and far surpass another great defender - Derek Billing, who set the record the year before Williams arrived with 201 steals. Of the five highest single-season steal totals recorded, Williams is four of them. He recorded 98 as a senior, a program record for one campaign, including a program record nine steals against Michigan Tech. His 224 field goals in that campaign are 8th all-time.
