Cole Craft was known as an excellent teammate and leader, beloved by his coaches and teammates. An exceptionally hard-worker who gave his all for the team, he was also a leader off the ice. A sudden illness stripped away Cole's ability to compete during his senior year at Lake Superior State, though he rejoined the team for training midway through the campaign and again became a leader in the dressing room. Laker Head Coach Damon Whitten praised him on his return, regularly stating the impact Craft had on the team simply by persevering and rejoining the group. The North Bay native would compete for one final season in college hockey, attending the University of Guelph in USports, where he scored a goal and assisted six more in 24 games.
Though he didn't wear a letter for LSSU, Cole Craft stands out with the great Laker leaders for his perseverance, determination and commitment. A devout Christian, he organized teammates and played a major role in the growth of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes on campus. He was one of the first to organize prayer circles at center ice, which continued on after his departure from LSSU and often involve members of opposing teams.
An accounting major at LSSU, Craft received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting with aims to become a C.P.A.
