Kevin Czuczman made his NHL debut shortly after leaving Lake Superior State and embarked on an extensive career in professional hockey. He was an Assistant Captain in 2016-17 with the AHL's Manitoba Moose, then spent three years wearing the "A" for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. In 2020-21, he returned to the NHL for two games with Pittsburgh. In 2022-23, Czuczman began playing in Europe with a season in Finland followed by several years with Czech side HC Litvínov.
Junior (2013-14): Starred for the Lakers, scoring 10 goals and adding 11 assists for 21 points in 36 games. Czuczman signed an NHL contract at the end of the season and debuted for the New York Islanders, tallying two assists in 13 games.
Sophomore (2012-13): Was named LSSU’s most-valuable defenseman... Tallied game-winning goals during a 4-2 victory at Alaska (11/3) and a 3-2 win over OhioState (11/24)... Notched a point in both games of the OSU series... Also assisted on game-winning goals against Northern Michigan (12/14) and Michigan (1/19)... Was +3 during LSSU’s 5-1 victory over Alaska (2/15).
Freshman (2011-12): Received Central Collegiate Hockey Association All-Rookie Team honorable mention after tying with Chris Ciotti in LSSU rookie scoring... Was named the team’s Outstanding Freshman... Scored his first collegiate goal during a 3-2 loss to Bemidji State (11/4)... Had two multiple-point games, including three assists during a 4-4 tie with Ohio State (1/28).
Prior to LSSU: Was the Newmarket Hurricanes’ top defenseman in 2010-11 after totaling 4-19--23 and contributing to his team’s first-place finish in the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s North Division... Newmarket was 34-7-9-5 during the regular season and 7-5 in the 2011 playoffs... Czuczman appeared in 10 playoff games and totaled 1-3--4.
