After signing for the AHL's San Diego Gulls, Hults played in the AHL and ECHL until the end of the 2019-20 season. He then went to Europe, competing in the top divisions in Finland, Italy, Slovakia, Czechia and Austria.

Sophomore (2016-17): Scored 11 goals and 23 assists for 34 points during the campaign for LSSU, then signed for the AHL's San Diego Gulls after the season.

Freshman (2015-16): Appeared in 40 games, scoring nine goals and 11 assists to rank second on the team in scoring with 20 points... Scored the opening goal during a 3-2 win at Ferris State (3/5)... Scored an empty-net shorthanded goal to secure a 3-1 victory over Northern Michigan (2/26)... Picked up an assist on J.T. Henke’s game-winning goal during a 3-2 win at Alaska Anchorage (2/19)...Registered two assists on the weekend in a split with Bemidji State at home (2/12-13)...Recorded an assist on the game-winning goal in a 3-0 victory over Brown at the Catamount Cup (12/30)... Added assists in back-to-back games in a road sweep at Alaska, including an assist on the game-winning goal in a 2-0 win (12/5)... Scored a goal in a 3-2 series-opening victory at Bemidji State (11/20) and followed it up with an assist during a 1-1 tie the next night (11/21)... Tallied an assist during a 5-4 overtime loss to Alabama Huntsville and during a 4-2 victory at Michigan State (10/22)... Prior to LSSU: Appeared in 55 games for the Madison Capitols during the 2014-15 season and scored 13-21--34... Appeared in 36 games for the Indiana Ice (USHL) during the 2013-14 season and scored 5-6--11... Appeared in eight playoff games for the Ice, scoring 5-0--5 while helping the team capture the USHL Clark Cup Championship... In 119 USHL games, Hults compiled 23-35--58.
