Biography

After signing for the AHL's Lowell Devils (and following the team to Albany), Perkovich spent three seasons in North American before signing for Croatian side Medvešcak Zagreb in 2012. He played for Zagreb until 2019, captaining the team in his final two seasons before returning to the US in the ECHL. Perkovich played internationally for Croatia at the World Championships in three different seasons, making 15 international appearances. In his final professional season, 2021-22, he was an assistant captain for the ECHL's Florida Everblades, concluding his playing career with the Kelly Cup Championship.

Junior (2008-09): Scored 12 goals with 12 assists in 35 games for LSSU.

Sophomore (2007-08): Was named LSSU's Most-Valuable Player and Most-Valuable Forward after leading the Lakers in goals scored... His 17 goals is the most by a Laker since Terry Marchant scored 17 in 1997-98... Was ranked 15th in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association in average goals scored per game and tied for eighth in the CCHA in power play goals with nine... Scored a goal in both games of the Superior Showcase and tallied seven goals through LSSU's first eight games... Tallied the game-winning goal against Wayne State (11/9)... Scored a goal in three of four games against Michigan State... Totaled 2-3--5 in a three-game CCHA first-round playoff series at Bowling Green State.

Freshman (2006-07): Shared the Soo Blueliners' Outstanding Freshman Award with teammate Simon Gysbers... Was a co-leader in goals scored with 15, which was the most goals scored by a Laker since Terry Marchant had 17 in 1997-98... Scored his first collegiate goal during a 7-6 overtime victory over Ohio State (10/14)... Enjoyed a six-game goal-scoring streak from 10/14 through 11/3... Was named the Central Collegiate Hockey Association Rookie of the Week on two occasions -- for scoring the Lakers' first goal in both games and notching an assist against Wayne State (11/17-18) and for scoring a goal in both games of a 4-4 tie and 3-2 overtime victory over Nebraska-Omaha (1/5-6)... Recorded his first career hat trick in the Lakers' season-ending 7-6 overtime loss to Michigan State during the Central Collegiate Hockey Association Playoffs (3/17)... Became the first Laker to notch a hat trick since Ben Keup scored four goals against Western Michigan on Oct. 30,1999... Scored game-winning goals against American International (10/28), Wayne State (11/17), Northern Michigan (2/3) and Western Michigan (2/24).

Prior to LSSU: An eighth-round draft pick by New Jersey in the 2004 National Hockey League Entry Draft... Finished 17th in the United States Junior Hockey League in scoring in 2005-06 with 28 goals and 24 assists in 56 games for the Chicago Steel... Helped lead Detroit Catholic Central High School to two state titles.
