After leaving LSSU, Schofield signed in the AHL, completing the season with Syracuse. He played one more year there before moving on to the Rochester Americans for the 2012-13 season. In 2013-14, he signed in the EBEL for HC Bolzano, winning the ICEHL Championship in his first season. Schofield spent two years there, wearing the "A" in the 2014-15 season. He spent many years playing in Europe, largely in EBEL, but spent two seasons in Germany's DEL as well. His longest stop was with Black Wings Linz.
Senior (2010-11): Captained the Lakers for the second straight year and delivered a huge season, posting 17 goals and 18 assists for 35 points in 39 games. Made his professional debut with three goals and four assists in 11 games for the AHL's Syracuse Crunch.
Junior (2009-10): Captained Lake Superior State. Named LSSU’s Most-Valuable Player and Most-Valuable Forward after leading the Lakers in goals scored with 15 and points and 28... Received votes on the All-Michigancollegehockey.com and All-Central Collegiate Hockey Association teams... Has a 3.56 grade point average and was LSSU’s nominee for the CCHA Scholar-Athlete Award for the second straight year... Tied for seventh nationally and second in the CCHA in game-winning goals with five... Scored GWGs against Ohio State (10/23), Bowling Green (12/5), Northern Michigan (12/11) and Nebraska-Omaha (1/15 and1/16)... His GWG against the Buckeyes occurred with 20 seconds remaining in regulation, while his GWG against the Wildcats was a short-handed marker... He tallied his GWG in the Jan. 16 victory over UNO in overtime... Tallied his first career short-handed goal against NMU on Dec. 12 and scored a short-handed game-tying goal in a 3-3 tie and shootout victory at Michigan State (1/9)... Led the team in faceoff wins with 387... Scored eight goals (8-2--10) in nine games between Dec. 5 and Jan. 16... Has scored 20 or more points during all three collegiate seasons.
Sophomore (2008-09):Â An Assistant Captain for Lake Superior State. Was named Central Collegiate Hockey Association Offensive Player of the Week after totaling 3-2--5 with three power-play goals during LSSU's series split at Bowling Green State (1/23/24)... Received RBC Financial Group Player of the Month Special Mention after totaling 6-5--11 in January... Led the Lakers in plus-minus at +13 and was second in power-play goals with five... Scored the game-winning goal against Harvard at the Badger Showdown (12/27)... Had multiple-point games against Harvard (1-1--2), Colgate (2-0--2, 1/9), BGSU (2-2--4,1/24), and Michigan State (0-3--3, 1/31)... Missed three games due to injury... Was LSSU's nominee for the CCHA Scholar-Athlete Award.
Freshman (2007-08): Received LSSU's Outstanding Freshman Award... Finished third on the team in goals scored and fifth in total points... Led LSSU in plus-minus at +8... Was ranked 22nd in the CCHA in freshmen scoring... Scored his first collegiate goal at Notre Dame (11/1)... Scored a goal while the Lakers were playing with an extra attacker in a 3-2 loss to Michigan State (11/30) and totaled 2-0--2 for the series... Scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 overtime victory over Alaska (2/22)... Recorded an assist and the game-winning goal against Northern Michigan (2/28)... Enjoyed a seven-game point streak from 2/16 through 3/8.
Prior to LSSU: Led the Pickering Panthers in scoring with 36-34--70 and was tied for 14th in scoring in the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League during the 2006-07 season... Was named the South Conference's Most-Improved Player and OPJHL All-Star Game's Most-Valuable Player... Received the BradShearer Award -- a leadership award presented by the Panthers' organization... Was a former teammate of Laker John Scrymgeour.
