Otilia Langston

Otilia joined Lake Superior State's Athletic Training staff in September of 2025. A native of St. Paul, Minnesota, she brings extensive experience in hockey to Sault Ste. Marie.

"I wanted to be in the CCHA," she said. "This has been a super inviting and welcoming staff. I felt like my ideas would be valued here."

Otilia worked at Mercyhurst from 2023 until departing for LSSU in 2025, primarily assigned to the men's ice hockey, women's field hockey team and women's lacrosse teams. With a focus on recovery and performance, she's excited to work with Head Sports Performance Coach Liam Cound.

"Treating athletes as a whole person and really digging into why they are athletes, besides just their physical ability, is very important," she said. "Especially when coming up with recovery plans and getting them back on the ice after an injury. We're improving as an industry in that regard. We're looking at these young people as whole people."

Otilia brings an outstanding resume to Lake Superior State, with several seasons in the college sports landscape across a wide range of competitions. She graduated from Bethel University in St. Paul, MN in 2022 with a Master's degree of Athletic Training. It's her second Master's degree. She earned her first in 2020, a Master's of Education in Exercise Physiology with an emphasis on Sports Psychology from the University of Minnesota. Otilia earned her Bachelor's degree of Science in Exercise Science from Winona State University in 2019.

During the 2022-23 season, she worked at Jacksonville University in Florida as an Athletic Trainer, assigned to the softball, cheer and dance teams. In the 2021-22 season, she worked with the Minnesota Golden Gophers men's ice hockey team as a Sports Medicine Intern. She also served as a Strength and Conditioning Intern with St. Mary's University's men's ice hockey team during the 2018-19 season.

A 2015 graduate of Henry Sibley High School, Otilia is another exciting hire for the Lakers athletics department. She lives in Sault Ste. Marie, MI with her dog, Henry.
