Junior (2025-26): Named to the Lakers ACHA Men's Division II hockey team, but did not compete as he continued pursuing his degree in Fire Science at Lake Superior State... Returned to the Lakers' NCAA Division I hockey team as a practice goaltender following a midseason departure... A steady, reliable practice goaltender who did not appear in game action, but again earned plaudits from coaches and teammates for stepping in to the role selflessly and providing quality.

Sophomore (2024-25): Played in two games for Lake Superior State's ACHA Men's Division II team, going 1-0-0-0 with a 2.25 GAA and .909 save percentage... Joined Lake Superior State's NCAA Division I team midseason as a practice goaltender due to team injury issues... Praised by coaches and teammates for his work ethic, attitude and growth as he rapidly stepped into a key training role... Did not compete in NCAA Division I games to preserve eligibility for ACHA play, but did not appear in any further games for Steve Kaunisto's team.

Freshman (2023-24): Competed for Lake Superior State's ACHA Men's Division II team, appearing in five games and posting a 2-0-0-1 record with one shutout, a 1.34 GAA and .940 save percentage. 

High School: Led USHS conference in SV% and GAA... Named to the USHS All-Star Team... State Champion... Spring League Champion... Also competed in Lacrosse... Also participated in National Honors Society, National Technical Honors Society, Student Ambassador, and Skills USA Fire Science/EMT.

Personal: Son of Kevin and Cindy Bute... Has one sibling... Nationally certified and state licensed EMT-B with additional training in advanced life support (ALS) and critical care... Majoring in fire science and paramedic technology.
