Alix Carter joined Lake Superior State as Women's Basketball Assistant Coach in July of 2024. The Toledo, OH native spent the prior season as a Graduate Assistant at Lawrence Tech for incoming Laker Head Coach Grace Howrigon, bringing continuity, talent and vision to the next era of Laker Basketball.

A resourceful, resilient individual, Carter played collegiately at Siena Heights and earned plaudits for her potential in the coaching ranks. During the 2021-22 season, her senior campaign, Carter was selected by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association for the "So You Want To Be A Coach" program.

In 2025, Alix was inducted into the Siena Heights Hall of Fame as a member of the 2019-20 Women's Basketball team that went 27-6. She joined Laker Head Coach Grace Howrigon and then-Assistant Coach Terrell Modest in SHU's Hall of Fame, with each recognized for their longtime contributions to the university's basketball program.

SHU Athletics Director and longtime Women's Basketball Head Coach Sue Syljebeck said, "Alix Carter contributed to our program in ways that don't always show up in a stat sheet. She brought knowledge, hard work and the understanding of team success.  She elevated our team with her presence. She embraced her role and made our program stronger because of her selflessness and perseverance."

At Lake Superior State, Carter serves as a key member of the University in athletic and academic roles. She works in the Admissions & Marketing office in the Cisler Center, guiding incoming LSSU students in their first steps to campus.
