ALLENDALE - Second-ranked Grand Valley State outscored Lake Superior State 41-17 during the final 14 minutes of Thursday's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball game and cruised to an 87-51 win.

Callistus Eziukwu totaled 23 points and 11 rebounds to lead GVSU, which improved to 27-0 overall and 15-0 in the GLIAC. Pete Trammell added 17 points as Grand Valley State shot 55.9 percent from the field and made 17-of-22 free throws.

Ryan Kuhl scored 20 points and added six rebounds to lead Lake Superior State (7-15 overall, 5-10 GLIAC). Kuhl was 8-of-10 at the free-throw line.

Tim VanOudheusden added nine points, and Mike Rader had eight.

LSSU shot 36.2 percent from the field, including 4-of-14 from three-point range. The Lakers made 13-of-20 free throws.

GVSU out-rebounded LSSU, 36-26.

Lake Superior State plays at 3 p.m. Saturday at Ferris State.
