Box Score LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - Third-ranked Southwest Baptist made 13
three-pointers and out-rebounded Lake Superior State 32-23 en route
to a 96-71 victory Sunday at the Disney DII Men's Basketball
Tip-Off Tournament held at the Milk House.
Scott Perkins scored 18 points and Kyle Hunt added 17 for the
Lakers (1-2). Garrett Konuszewski added nine points and three
assists.
Matt Rogers, who was named the tournament's most-valuable
player, scored 30 points to lead five SWB players in double
figures. Southwest Baptist was 13-of-24 (54 percent) from
three-point range and made 17-of-24 free throws. The Bearcats shot
60 percent from the field.
LSSU was 8-of-21 from behind the arc, made 15-of-22 free
throws and shot 45 percent from the field. The Lakers trailed
51-41 at halftime. They closed within eight points with 19 minutes
to go, but never got any closer.
Perkins, who averaged 16.7 points per game for the tournament,
was named to the all-tournament team. Philadelphia's Russell
Frederick and Southwest Baptist's Thijin Moses also earned
all-tournament team honors.
