Box Score SAULT STE. MARIE - Lake Superior State shot a season-high 57.4
percent from the field and had four scorers land in double figures
while cruising past Tiffin 82-63 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate
Athletic Conference men's basketball action Saturday at Bud Cooper
Gymnasium.
LSSU (4-4 overall, 4-1 GLIAC) shot 60 percent in the second half
while nearly doubling its 10-point halftime lead. The Lakers were
10-of-19 from three-point range and dominated the boards, 37-25.
They made 18-of-20 free throws.
Sophomore guard Kyle Hunt scored 18 points to tie his career
high, and he led the Lakers in rebounds with nine. Hunt was
5-of-9 from the field with three three-pointers and 5-of-5 at the
free-throw line.
Garrett Konuszewski added 14 points and six assists for LSSU,
which moved into a tie with Ferris State for first place in the
GLIAC North Division. Micah Hudson finished with 12 points and six
rebounds, and Scott Perkins totaled 11 points and five rebounds.
The Lakers out-scored Tiffin 16-6 during the first 4 1/2 minutes
of the second half to build a 20-point command, 57-37. The Lakers'
biggest lead was 28 points.
Brian Scott scored 14 points to lead Tiffin (1-7 overall, 0-4
GLIAC).
After a week-long holiday break, the Lakers resume play at 7:30
p.m. on Dec. 29 with a non-conference game against Albion.
