SAULT STE. MARIE - Lake Superior State came out on the losing
end of several tie-breaker sets during Saturday's hard-fought
dual match with Wayne State.
The Warriors (3-6 overall, 2-0 Great Lakes Intercollegiate
Athletic Conference), who are ranked ninth in the Great Lakes
Region, defeated LSSU 6-3. They were 5-1 in singles, and all
six matches were close.
LSSU's Brandon Clayton won 6-4, 6-3 at No. 3 singles and teammed
with Robbie Nelson for an 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles.
All four sets at Nos. 5 and 6 singles were 7-5 decisions in
WSU's favor.
The Lakers (4-6 overall, 0-2 GLIAC) play host to Grand
Valley State and Ferris State on March 28 and 29, respectively.
