BIG RAPIDS - Sergio Laza and Brandon Clayton posted singles wins
as the Lake Superior State men's tennis team lost 6-3 in its Great
Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opener Saturday at Ferris
State.
Laza claimed a three-set win at No. 2 singles. He overcame a
tie-breaker loss in the second set. Clayton also won in three sets
at No. 4. Razvan Mag and Pawel Wegrzyn won 8-6 at No. 1 doubles.
Five out of six singles matches were extremely close.
The Lakers (4-6 overall, 0-1 GLIAC) play at Grand Valley State
on Sunday. Ferris State improved to 4-5 overall and 1-0 in the
GLIAC.
