DETROIT, Mich. - The Lake Superior State men's tennis team won
two of three doubles matches, but lost 6-3 at Wayne State on
Saturday.
The only win for Lakers in singles came from Sergiu Laza
(Toronto, Ont.) at the No. 2 position. Laza won 6-3, 6-3
against Wayne States Britton Steele. Laza is now 3-1 in the Great
Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
The other two Laker wins came from the No. 1 and 3 doubles
teams. Razvan Mag (Windsor, Ont.) and Pawel Wegrzyn
(Mississauga, Ont.) won in a tight match, 9-7. Another win
came from Laza and doubles partner Travis Toth (St. Johns,
Mich.), 8-2.
The Lakers (5-8 overall, 1-3 GLIAC) play their first home
conference match against Michigan Tech Friday at 2 p.m.
