SAULT STE. MARIE - Lake Superior State evened its overall record
and moved above .500 in league play after closing out its men's
tennis regular season with a 7-2 home victory over Tiffin Sunday.
"Today was a great way to end the regular season,"
LSSU coach Tom Linhart
said. "These two wins really give us the momentum we need as we enter the GLIAC Tournament
next weekend."
LSSU (8-8 overall, 4-3 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference) turned the tables from Saturday's 7-2 victory over
Findlay. The Lakers were 1-2 in doubles against the Oilers, but won
all three doubles matches against the Dragons (5-12 overall, 0-6
GLIAC). They also claimed singles wins at Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 6.
All four singles victories were in straight sets.
Lake Superior State is ranked ninth in the NCAA Midwest Region
Poll.
