Box Score ROCKLAND, Ont. – Lake Superior State extended its
exhibition win streak with an 11-1 victory over the University
of Ottawa on Jan. 3. LSSU is now 3-0 during its
five-game Canadian tour.
At the end of the first period, LSSU topped Ottawa 7-1. Freshman
goaltender Niels-Erik Ravn tallied his first start as a Laker. The
Gee-gees went scoreless during the second and third periods.
At the end of two periods, LSSU had an 8-1 lead. Lakers rounded
out their scoring with three more goals in the third.
Senior forward Will Acton led the Lakers with a hat trick, and
classmate Rick Schofield led the Lakers in points with
1-3—4.
Freshman forward Kellan Lain notched two goals and one assist
for the Lakers. Forwards Kyle Jean, Ben Power, and Domenic Monardo
recorded one goal and one assist. Senior defenseman Dillin
Stonehouse and forward Chad Nehring both tallied one goal.
Fred Cassiani, Matt Cowie, Kyle Haines, and Zach Sternberg each
had one assist in the victory.
The Lakers will play Ryerson Jan. 5 and York Jan. 6.
