Box Score HILLSDALE - Hillsdale held Lake Superior State to 19 field goals
to win Saturday's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
women's basketball game 84-51.
The Chargers (5-3 overall, 2-2 GLIAC) trailed by six points
early, then netted three quick three-pointers to take an
eight-point lead midway through the first half. They went on to
lead 42-28 at halftime and hold the Lakers (4-6 overall, 0-3 GLIAC)
to nine second-half field goals.
LSSU was 5-of-26 from three-point range for the game, but
was 0-for-12 during the second half. The Lakers 31.1 percent
from the field for the game and made 8-of-12 free throws.
Maria Blazejewski scored 21 points and totaled eight rebounds to
lead the Lakers. Taylor Greene added 11.
Chelsea Harrison totaled 12 points and six assists to lead
Hillsdale. Lea Jones and Kadie Lowery scored 10 points each. The
Chargers shot 45.8 percent from the field, including 12-of-33 from
three-point range, and made 6-of-7 free throws. They held a 42-41
rebounding edge.
LSSU plays host to Saginaw Valley State at 1 p.m. on Dec. 17. It
will be the Lakers' GLIAC home opener.
