BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - The Lake Superior State men's tennis team opened the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference season Friday with a 7-2 loss at Ferris State.
Sophomore Sergiu Laza (Toronto, Ont.) came out victorious at No. 1 singles. Laza defeated his Ferris State opponent, 6-2, 6-4.
Laza and No. 1 doubles partner senior Brandon Clayton (Windsor, Ont.) won, 8-6.
The Lakers (1-11) continue GLIAC play Saturday against Grand Valley. FSU improved to 6-2.
