Box Score HILLSDALE - Hillsdale outscored Lake Superior State 25-3 during
a 10-minute span in the first half of Saturday's women's basketball
game, building enough momentum for a 77-53 victory.
The Chargers (4-1 overall, 1-1 Great Lakes Intercollegiate
Athletic Conference) led 41-17 at halftime. Marissa DeMott and
Sarah Theut scored 11 points each to lead Hillsdale.
Maria Blazejewski totaled 10 points and seven rebounds to lead
LSSU (1-5 overall, 0-2 GLIAC). Kandace Crittendon and Alex Morrow
scored nine points each. Morrow also contributed six rebounds.
LSSU shot 36.5 percent from the field, including 2-of-5 from
behind the arc, and made 13-of-23 free throws.
Hillsdale, whose only loss so far this season was Thursday
against Northwood, shot 42.9 percent from the field, making
11-of-23 three-point attempts. The Chargers were 24-of-33 at the
free-throw line and held a 36-35 rebounding edge.
