Box Score HILLSDALE - The Lake Superior State men's basketball team has
been a strong second-half team so far this season, but Hillsdale
turned the tables on the Lakers and dominated the second half of
Saturdays contest to win 71-57.
LSSU (2-3 overall, 0-2 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference) led 34-33 at halftime, but was held to seven
second-half field goals (24.1 percent). The Lakers were 0-for-5
from behind the arc during the final 20 minutes.
Jorddan Myrick scored 16 points and Derek Kinney totaled 11
points and nine rebounds to lead LSSU. Cameron Metz finished with
nine points and nine rebounds, and Derek Billing totaled nine
points and five steals.
The Lakers shot 33.3 percent from the field for the game, making
2-of-13 three-point field-goal attempts. They were 17-of-25 at the
free-throw line.
Tim Dezelski totaled 15 points and nine rebounds to lead
Hillsdale (5-0 overall, 2-0 GLIAC). Brandon Pritzel added 13 points
and four assists, and Jason Pretzer also scored 13 points. Cody
Smith finished with 12 points.
The Chargers shot 39.6 percent from the field, including 8-of-24
from behind the arc, and made 25-of-30 free throws. They controlled
the boards, 44-29.
