Box Score SAULT STE. MARIE - The Wayne State women's basketball team
overcame a six-point second-half deficit to beat Lake Superior
State for the second time this season. The Warriors' early-season
non-conference win was nothing more than a barometer for the
Lakers. Thursday's conference victory at Bud Cooper Gymnasium
knocked the Lakers out of contention for a berth in the Great Lakes
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament.
LSSU (10-15 overall, 6-12 GLIAC) will wrap up its season at 1
p.m. Saturday at home against Findlay. The Lakers will pay
tribute to seniors Cassy Schemberger, Sarah Cubr and Jasmine Brown
before the game.

first-half LSSU turnovers, but trailed 25-24 at halftime after

seven unanswered points to close out the game. Schemberger posted
up during the Lakers' final possession, but couldn't draw a foul
during the final seconds. Juanita Cochran hovered over

attempt.
