SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - Lake Superior State drops a 5-4 home
match against Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
opponent Wayne State. The Lakers had a 2-1 lead heading into
singles play over the Warriors.
LSSU is 5-12 overall and 3-4 in GLIAC play. Wayne State
continues its undefeated GLIAC play with their win over the Lakers,
LSSU forced WSU to play its closest conference match of the
season.
Pedro Nunes and doubles partner Grant Link won No. 1 doubles 8-3
over WSU. Dane Fosgard and partner Ryne DuShane made it 2-1 for
LSSU after their 8-6 win over the Warriors.
In Singles play Nunes was victorious at No. 1 singles 6-1, 7-5.
Link defeated WSU 6-1, 6-2 to round out LSSU's winners. Kyle Koster
played a third set tie-breaker, losing 1-6, 6-2, 7-5 at No. 4
singles.
The Lakers will be back in action April 6 at Michigan Tech.
