GRAND RAPIDS - Men's tennis lost road matches Saturday at
Cornerstone and Aquinas. Cornerstone defeated Lake Superior State
in a tight match, 5-4, while Aquinas topped LSSU, 8-1.
Lake State's Francis Nadeau proved to be LSSU's lone win over
Aquinas, claiming a 7-5, 6-3 victory at No. 3 singles.
Against Cornerstone the Lakers took two out of three doubles
matches, winning by 8-6 decisions at Nos. 1 and 2 doubles.
Pedro Nunes went 6-3, 6-4 over Cornerstone at No. 2 singles
while Grant Link won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4 singles.
The Lakers finished their season-opening road swing Sunday with
a 6-3 loss at Davenport. Nadeau won 7-6, 6-3 at No. 2 singles.
Nunes lost in a third-set tiebreaker, 2-6, 6-3, 10-6, at No. 1
singles. At No. 3 singles, Link was defeated in a third-set
tiebreaker, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
