Box Score TIFFIN - Lake Superior State, which has struggled with shooting
at times this season, shot a season-low 20.6 percent from the field
during Saturday's 54-44 women's basketball loss at Tiffin.
The Lakers (3-11 overall, 3-5 Great Lakes Intercollegiate
Athletic Conference) were as low as 12 percent from the field until
going on a 12-2 run during the final seven minutes of the second
half. They cut the lead to three points, 44-41, with 2:04
remaining. Tiffin (5-7 overall, 2-6 GLIAC) made 8-of-10 free throws
down the stretch to protect its lead.
April LaCross totaled 10 points and 10 rebounds to lead the
Lakers and record her first double double of the season. Raven
Trammell scored eight points, and Laura VanEs had six. Alex Morrow
finished with four points and a career-high 12 rebounds.
The Lakers were 1-of-24 from three-point range and 17-of-21 at
the free-throw line.
Jillian Adams and Jordan Fraley scored 12 points each to lead
Tiffin. The Dragons shot 27.5 percent from the field, including
1-of-10 from behind the arc, and made 25-of-32 free throws. They
out-rebounded LSSU, 48-45.
LSSU plays host to Saginaw Valley State at 5:30 p.m.
