SAULT STE. MARIE - Lake Superior State closed its men's tennis
season with a 5-4 home loss to Tiffin Saturday at the Arbuckle
Student Activity Center.
Despite an ailing shoulder, senior Ryne DuShane fought to a 6-4,
6-4 victory at No. 6 singles to win his final collegiate match.
Senior Pedro Nunes teammed with Felix DeSharnais to win 8-6 during
his final doubles contest.
Dushane posted an 11-12 singles mark this season, while Nunes
was 10-14 at No. 1 singles.
Francis Nadeau and DeSharnais at Nos. 2 and 4 singles also won
their matches. Nadeau had the Lakers' best singles record of
18-6.
LSSU finished 10-14 overall and 3-8 in the Great Lakes
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, while Tiffin improved to 14-9
overall and 7-3 in the GLIAC.
