TIFFIN, Ohio- Lake Superior State fell to Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponents Tiffin in the opening game of GLIAC play for both squads 7-2.
The Lakers (1-4, 0-1 GLIAC) picked up a win during the doubles portion as the tandem of Grant Link and Ieuan Lister defeated Kyle Johnson and Nicholas Almeida by a score of 8-5. Link and Lister moved to 2-3 overall as a pair on the season.
Mateusz Izycki picked up the lone win in singles for the Lakers. Izycki defeated Kyle Johnson, who had to withdraw from the match due to injury. Johnson was up 6-4 and beginning serve on the second set at the time of the injury.
The Lakers wrap up their weekend road trip as they travely to Findlay on Sunday. The Lakers and Oilers will hit the courts at 10 am.
