HOUGHTON, Mich.- The Lake Superior State men's tennis team downed Michigan Tech, 7-2, Saturday afternoon for its first Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference win of the season.

With the win, the Lakers improve 6-6 overall with a 1-3 mark in the league and earn their first GLIAC road win in four years.

After No.1 doubles pairing Ieuan Lister and Diego Penz fell, 8-3, Lake State claimed victories at the No.2 and No.2 spots from Jake Prime-Luis Valderrama (8-6) and Joe Gilman-Peter Summers (8-3).

Tech grabbed a team point at No.1 singles as Gilman fell in a tiebreaker to Mario Neto (2-6, 6-4, 10-8).

Prime, Lister, Valderama, Penz and Summers all posted two-set sweeps to send the Lakers home with the win.

Lake State returns to the court on April 7th and 8th for a two-match home stand as they welcome Davenport University and Purdue University Northwest inside the Arbuckle Student Activities Center. Attendance is free and open to the public.
