LSSU Tennis Falls to Asbury in Non-Conference Double Header

WILMORE, Ky.-- The Lake Superior State men's and women's teams fell to Asbury in a non-conference double-header Thursday afternoon.

The Laker women fell to the Eagles 6-3, while the men faced the No. 17-ranked men's team, and lost ,6-3.

The Lake State women took three singles matches from AU with wins from AlexiAnn Drouin, Jenay Andrews, and Allison Grandfield, who won in a close three set match.

On the men's side, the LSSU jumped out to a 2-1 lead after doubles, with wins from Ieuan Lister and Diego Penz (9-7)  as well as Jake Prime and Luis Valderrama (8-6). In singles play, Penz won 6-4,6-2.

Lake Superior State will conclude their five-match road trip while they travel tomorrow to Louisville to play Bellarmine. Both men's and women's team begin at 10 a.m.

Lake Superior State will host three matches this spring. Matches are free to attend. Come support the Lakers at the Student Activity Center on March 21, April 7, and April 8.
