LOUISVILLE, Ky. —The Lake Superior State men's and women's tennis teams spilt their non-conference double-header at Bellarmine Friday evening with the men sweeping the Knights. 9-0, while the women fell, 1-8.
With the loss, the LSSU men improve to 4-3 overall on the season. The women fall to 4-11.
Freshman AlexiAnn Drouin captured the lone victory for the Lakers in No.1 singles with a three set win (3-6, 6-3, 11)
Competing for the men, Joe Gilman, Jake Prime, Ieuen Lister, Dieogo Penz, Luis Valderrama and Seth Pinnoo all swept their singles matchups.
In the doubles, Gilman-Prime, Lister Penz and Valderrama-Pinnoo all won in straight sets.
The Lakers will wrap up their five-match road trip with a stop at Alma on Sunday (11 a.m.).
Lake Superior State will host three matches this spring. Matches are free to attend. Come support the Lakers at the Student Activity Center on March 21, April 7, and April 8.
