Saturday, Lake Superior State packed the schedule with an incredible doubleheader. The Laker Men's Basketball team beat #9 Gannon 99-87 on Wednesday and heads home to host Lawrence Tech, Saturday at 2:00 PM. The Lakers play their first home game of the season and celebrate the 2024-25 team that made the Elite Eight of the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Tournament. A ring ceremony and banner unveiling precede the 2:00 PM tipoff. With stars Omar Suleiman, Nino Carter-Smith and Kendall Smith leading the charge, the Lakers aim to follow up their massive Wednesday win with another thrilling afternoon at the Bud Cooper Gymnasium.

Then, at 6:07 PM, Laker Hockey returns to face Augustana in the series finale on an incredible evening ta Taffy Abel Arena. Military Appreciation Weekend continues with a special tribute to the U.S. Coast Guard and its deep ties to Sault Ste. Marie, MI. The Lakers wear special sweaters inspired by the USCB, and will auction off six of them during Saturday's game. A portion of the proceeds will benefit local veteran charities. Jersey numbers 3, 5, 6, 10, 29, and 77 will be auctioned. It's a special weekend for the Coast Guard, the Lakers and the entire Eastern Upper Peninsula community.

Hunter Ramos, a freshman star for LSSU whose father serves in the armed forces said, "It's important that we honor all the men and women who have fought for us. It's also important that we show them support and love, and that we are in their corner even when they are thousands of miles away. My father serves in the military and his discipline to always do the right thing inspires me."

Get your tickets and be a part of this special weekend at Lake Superior State.
