ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State (LSSU) women's basketball team (5-16, 2-11 GLIAC) fell on the road at No. 1 Grand Valley State (GVSU) by a final score of 83-41 on Thursday.
Both teams battled early as Grace Bradford (Maple City, Mich.) netted nine of her team's first eleven points to have LSSU ahead by one, but Grand Valley was able to go on a run to take a ten point advantage by the end of the opening quarter.
CeCe Hacker (Omaha, Neb.) and Breah Golden (Arcadia, Wis.) were then able to find some success in the paint, but GVSU found themselves ahead at the break.
LSSU kept fighting in the second half, getting multiple buckets from Bradford, but GVSU managed to press ahead to close out the game with an 11-0 run.Â
Bradford led the way offensively for LSSU with 16 points on the night while Golden recorded a career-high nine rebounds.
The Lakers return to action on Saturday, Feb. 8 when they face the Davenport Panthers with tipoff scheduled for 1 p.m.
