Lake Superior State wrapped its rivalry week in the western U.P. in Marquette on Saturday afternoon, but the Lakers dropped a 76-49 result to the #14 Northern Michigan Wildcats at Vandament Arena.
LSSUÂ (5-17, 2-12 GLIAC) was led in scoring by
Grace Bradford, who scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. She also doled out four assists and stole the ball once. The senior from Glen Lake, MI set Lake Superior State's all-time rebounding record against Michigan Tech on Thursday. NMU (20-4, 11-3 GLIAC) was led by Sarah Newcomer's 25 points.Â
Claire Conzelmann scored 11 points, hitting three triples during the game.
Seyyane Matthew blocked three shots and scored eight points for the Lakers. The first-year forward continues to dominate the blocks for Lake State, posting her ninth game with multiple blocked shots this season. The game against Northern marked the fourth time that she'd blocked three or more shots in a single contest.
Dara Capaldi scored 10 points for the Lakers.
