Box Score COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio State scored four goals during the
first six minutes of Saturday's hockey game and went on to
beat Lake Superior State 6-1.
The Lakers (13-14-1 overall, 8-11-1-1 Central Collegiate Hockey
Association) were swept for the second time this season by an
opponent. Both sweeps occurred on the road.
LSSU was down 5-1 to OSU by the end of the first period. Alex
Szczechura and Tanner Fritz each tallied two points for the
Buckeyes. Szczechura tallied two of OSU's first three goals.
Andrew Dommett (2-1--3) found his way past OSU's netminder Brady
Hjelle, scoring LSSU's lone goal from Kellan Lain (6-7--13) and
Domenic Monardo (12-11--23).
Kevin Murdock (8-9-0) allowed three goals through four minutes
and suffered the loss for the Lakers. Kevin Kapalka made 33
saves in relief for LSSU. Hjelle (8-8-4) made 30 saves for the
Buckeyes (10-11-5 overall, 9-6-3-1 CCHA).
Ohio State was 0-for-5 on the power play, but scored a
short-handed goal. LSSU finished 0-for-2.
