SAULT STE. MARIE - Lake Superior State won four of five singles
matches en route to a 7-2 women's tennis victory over Tiffin on
Saturday at the Arbuckle Student Activity Center.
The Lakers (3-4 overall, 2-4 Great Lakes Intercollegiate
Athletic Conference) play their next three matches on the road as
they strive to reach .500 heading into the conference tournament.
"The team played with a lot of focus today," LSSU coach Tom
Linhart said. "We really went out and just played consistent, smart
tennis for the duration of the match."
LSSU claimed forfeit wins at Nos. 6 singles and 3 doubles.
"Today's win will get us back on track as we enter the final leg
of our season, especially with a big conference road trip next
weekend," Linhart said.
The Lakers travel to Wayne State on Oct. 9.
