SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - Lake Superior State rounded out its
women's tennis regular season with a 6-3 victory over Michigan Tech
Saturday at the Arbuckle Student Activity Center. The
Lakers are 12-5 overall and 7-5 in the Great Lakes
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference heading into the GLIAC
Tournament.
LSSU won No. 3 through No. 6 singles. At No. 6 singles, the
Lakers won by default with Meagan Grey (Munising, Mich.) having no
opponent. Tess Marton (Toronto, Ont.) defeated the Huskies 6-0, 6-2
at No. 3 singles. Kaitlynn Hutchinson (Cadillac, Mich.) won 7-5,
4-6 (10-8) at No. 4 singles. Holly Daniel was victorious over MTU,
6-1, 6-0, at No. 5 singles.
Adrienne DiVito (Washington, Mich.), who is the Lakers' only
senior, and doubles partner Tess Marton defeated the Huskies
8-5 at No.1 doubles. DiVito and Marton are 9-8 at No. 1 doubles
overall.
