MIDLAND - Grand Valley State opened the Great Lakes
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Tournament with
a 3-0 sweep in doubles and went on to beat Lake Superior State 5-0
Friday at the Midland Tennis Center.
GVSU (11-2 overall, 10-2 GLIAC), which is the No. 3 seed,
claimed wins of 8-2, 8-3 and 8-3 at Nos. 1, 2 and 3 doubles. Grand
Valley also won Nos. 1 and 6 singles to secure the team
victory.
LSSU (12-6 overall, 7-5 GLIAC) is the tournament's No. 6 seed
and plays the loser of the Wayne State-Ohio Dominican match
Saturday.
