Box Score BEMIDJI, Minn. - Lake Superior State continued its string of
Friday wins with a 3-2 victory over Bemidji State. The Lakers are
5-0-1 during Friday night play this season.
Overall LSSU is 7-3-1 and 3-2-0 in the Western Collegiate Hockey
Association. Bemidji State is 4-7-2 overall and 4-4-1 in the WCHA
heading into Saturday's rematch.
LSSU freshman forward Alex Globke (6-8--14) opened the scoring
at 9:25 of the first period, drawing assists from Colin Campbell
(4-5--9) and Andrew Perrault (1-2--3).
In the second period, Bemidji scored a power-play goal and a
short-handed goal to take a 2-1 lead over the Lakers. At 3:57 of
the third LSSU junior forward Stephen Perfetto (2-7--9) scored the
game-tying power-play goal from Campbell and Zach Sternberg
(2-5--7).
Campbell finished the Lakers' scoring at 4:54 of the third with
a game-winning power-play goal from Globke and Perfetto. It was
Campbell's first three-point weekend of the season.
The Lakers were outshot, 32-26. Senior goaltender Kevin Kapalka
(4-2-1) made 30 saves for LSSU, while the Beavers' Andrew Walsh
(4-7-2) tallied 23 saves. The Lakers were 2-for-3 on the power-play
and held BSU to 1-for-5.
