HOUGHTON - Lake Superior State women's tennis team wrapped Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular-season play with a 7-2 loss at Michigan Tech on Friday afternoon.

The Lakers (0-12, 0-11 GLIAC) were swept by the Huskies (3-8, 3-8 GLIAC) during the doubles portion, 9-7, 9-7, 9-8.

During singles play the Lakers received wins from Tara Harvey and Laura Roberts. Harvey defeated Sandra Cvetanovic 6-1, 6-3 to improve her singles record to 3-9 during her freshman season.

Roberts, a junior from Nelson, New Zealand, also improved to 3-9 on the season after defeating Emilia Tenizbaeva 7-6, 6-2.

The Lakers will return to the courts on Feb. 28 in a non-conference meeting with Missouri-St. Louis.
