ALMA, Mich.- Lake Superior State women's tennis concluded their season with a non-conference matchup against Alma, defeating the Scots by a score of 6-3. The Lakers earned victories in both No. 1 and No. 2 doubles and won the top four singles matchups to secure the victory.
Headlining the match for the Lakers, once again, were the the tandem of Erin Anderson-Scott and Sarah Awe. Anderson-Scott picked up a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Megan Solano. Awe defeated Nicki Malekadeli in a pair of 6-1 sets.
Anderson-Scott and Awe also led the Lakers to victory in doubles, defeating the tandem of Solano and Malekadeli 8-0.
Joining the top pair with wins was the pairing of Laura Roberts and Laura Fernandez. Roberts picked up a 6-4, 6-0 victory over Paige Pontious in No. 3 singles. Fernandez added the Lakers' sixth victory with her win in No. 4 singles action, defeating Claudia Barajas 6-2, 6-2.
Roberts and Fernandez won the No. 2 singles match by a score of 8-2.
The Lakers concluded their season with the victory and finished with a 4-16 record on the season. The match marks against the Scots marks the final match for Anderson-Scott during her Laker career.
